Here are the answers to many of the questions we have heard from our valuable customers.
How do I take care of my plants?
Front Porch Flora will email detailed care instructions with each delivery. Keep an eye out for an informational card in your planter that will cover watering, fertilizing, pruning, and other topics that will help your flowers look great all season.
Plant care pointers:
If you move your planter to a new spot make sure to try and gauge how the new spot’s sunlight might be. If you notice your plants in decline after moving, there may be an environmental change that’s hurting your plants.
If your plants look wilted, they may need water. This is especially an issue during those hot summer months, so use your finger to check the moisture in the soil.
If your plant looks soggy and/or mushy, it might be getting too much water or shade. Check the soil with your finger and make sure outside factors like gutters or roof drip lines aren’t dripping extra water in your planters.
If you have a sprinkler system- check that enough water is making it into your containers. Irrigation systems may not take into account the raised planter. We recommend installing drip lines into your containers if possible.
If you want to add fertilizer or moisture-retaining soil please contact us and we will make arrangements.
Can my planter be placed indoors?
The short answer is No. While we hope you love them so much that you want to look at them all day and night, we can not recommend that you bring them inside.
What if my planter dies before the next one arrives? Remember your plants are alive so they’ll need water, sunlight, or shade, be sure to keep them in their ideal setting and water them as per your instructions. Each seasonal planter is designed to look great for that growing season. However, as one season ends and the next begins you may notice a decline in its appearance right before your new arrangements are delivered.

How do I know what size planter I need?
Our subscriptions are based on a small, standard, or large planter size.
Small up to 12”
To know the size of your planter you should measure the diameter (across the top). The height of the planter does not need to be factored in.
Please email if you require a custom size or commercial package or if your containers require a large quantity of soil.
Can I mix and match different subscriptions?
Sure! You can order as many and as many different types of subscriptions as you like!
Can I add to or change my order throughout the year to my subscription?
You certainly can! You can change sizes, quantities, sun exposure, type of subscription, etc, of your planter order as well as purchase exclusive Front Porch Flora add-on items at any time when you sign in to your account. Check for our Multi-Planter discounts too. If you want to upgrade or downgrade a subscription we will add the credit to your account. Can I skip a season (quarter) during the yearly subscription?
Yes. Just email [email protected] explaining which season you’d like to skip. However, these requests need to be made 30 days in advance, without penalty. We special order these flowers for each house and therefore short notice cancellations and quarter skips will result in an over-stocking fee equal to 20% of the order total.
Do you plant into flower beds?
GIY subscribers may definitely plant them wherever they’d like, Or if you are a signature subscriber we can plant them wherever you’d like for you. Front Porch Flora is willing to follow a subscription-based flower bed planting program for your beds. Please reach out to our team if that is something you’d like to specify. This request would be a custom order/request and would follow the following guidelines: • Front Porch Flora designers will meet with you to understand what you want.
- We will propose parameters and clearly explain your quarterly costs.
- Our Front Porch Flora Team will visit at the beginning of each season to refresh your beds.
What's included with my subscription?
Each subscription includes one arrangement which will be delivered and installed by our team into your provided planters. Each season, (SPRING, SUMMER, FALL, WINTER) we will be back with a fresh arrangement and we’ll even take away the old one for you! Your credit card will be billed automatically every three months and you’ll be notified of expected delivery times.

Are planters included with the delivered arrangement?
No, at this time the planters are not included. We will plant the arrangement into a planter you already have or you may purchase one through the FPF shop.
Do you offer a referral bonus?
Yes, we do! Please email [email protected] and we will explain how! We love being loved and we want to show you some love too.
How do I get the Multi-Planter bonus?
FPF offers a multi-planter item, this is based on the number of subscriptions purchased for each service (GIY and Signature). The bonus item will be delivered with your first order and then once a year thereafter during the Summer season.
Does FPF offer Military and First Responder benefits?
Yes! Front Porch Flora would like to thank you for your service and want to show our appreciation for your sacrifices. We will automatically give you a bonus item free with any subscription. Bonus items will be delivered once a year during the summer season. Verification of status will be conducted via email at [email protected].
How do I renew my subscription?
Front Porch Flora will automatically renew for you!
How do I cancel my subscription?
Although we will be sad to see you leave we want this to be easy. Just email us ([email protected]) and we’re happy to help. Once your cancellation is processed, your subscription fulfillment will continue until the credit is depleted. Front Porch Flora does request that all cancellations be made at least 30 days prior to the season start date. This is because we special order these flowers for each house and therefore short notice cancellations and quarter skips will result in an over-stocking fee equal to 20% of the order total.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We appreciate your patronage and currently accept major credit cards such as Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express.
When will I be billed?
Billings begins at the initial subscription purchase. From there on out, billing will be done every 3 months (full year subscriptions) or 6 months (half-year subscriptions)
Pickup & Delivery Questions
How much does shipping cost?
Front Porch Flora delivers. We don’t charge for delivery.
Do you ship internationally?
We do not. Flowers in dark dry boxes being shipped isn’t our favorite. However, we are partnered with some folks who are designing some really great decor so if you want an inanimate object shipped long distance please email us ([email protected]) to see.
Will you ship to an address other than my billing address?
Front Porch Flora would love to deliver to any address on Long Island! We hope you love Front Porch Flora so much that you even give a subscription to your family and friends. Please keep in mind that we currently serve all over Long Island’s Suffolk and Nassau Counties. The NYC area is on a case-by-case basis and we request that you email us ([email protected]) to find out if we serve that area.
What do I do with last season's arrangement(s)?
With your Front Porch Flora Signature subscription, we will handle everything, which includes removing old plant materials and refreshing your potting soil. Front Porch Flora will recycle the entirety of the arrangements’ contents for you so you can rest easy knowing that everything is handled. But if you want to remove/transplant any of the materials yourself please feel free to do so. We will still see you at the start of the next season.
Does FPF recycle?
Heck yes, we do! We create composts and separate out non-recyclables from each creation. We would love it if you let us take care of everything so we can be as environmentally friendly as possible.
When is delivery day?
Every season is different and some years are better than others so please observe the following date ranges for estimated deliveries: Spring Season (April 1-22), Summer Season (May 26-June 20), Fall Season (September 5-23), Winter Season (October 31-November 29). These dates are approximations because growing conditions vary every year. Front Porch Flora is dedicated to bringing you top-notch flowers so we must deliver them at the perfect time so that you can enjoy them. As soon as we know the plants are ready we will let you know.
